The renewable energy consumption rate is expected to increase by nearly 10%, and the energy efficiency is expected to increase by nearly 20% compared to traditional business halls, which will be the energy-saving achievements that this business hall can achieve.

Beijing Global Power Supply Service Center Business Hall

This “Light Storage Straight Soft” zero carbon business hall project is a vivid practice of Siemens promoting the Siemens China Zero Carbon Pioneer Program with the spirit of low-carbon practitioners. In the process of practicing practical carbon reduction, Siemens deeply recognizes that low-carbon and digitalization complement each other, and will drive industrial transformation in different application scenarios, jointly promoting the sustainable development of enterprises and even the whole society.

Smart Carbon Solution with “Pin” Shape

Cracking the carbon reduction challenge
Faced with the continuous intersection, penetration, and integration of digital technology and low-carbon transformation, enterprises need to respond to the transition from energy consumption dual control to carbon emission dual control with smarter and more efficient solutions. Siemens is committed to promoting the transformation of enterprises from energy management thinking to carbon management thinking, examining and managing enterprise operations from a new carbon perspective.

A digital solution for the shape of the character ‘P’

Siemens provides a unique digital solution in the shape of a ‘cross’. At the top is Siemens’ Smart ECX smart energy carbon management platform. The bottom of the “cross” shape is composed of the energy supply end and the energy consumption end. The supply side provides intelligent scheduling and operation solutions for distributed energy, while the consumption side provides digital solutions for improving equipment energy efficiency. By conducting in-depth analysis of energy supply and consumption data through Smart ECX, enterprises can explore more potential and scenarios for energy conservation and carbon reduction, thereby achieving more efficient energy utilization and lower carbon operating models.

Siemens Smart ECX Smart Energy Carbon Management Platform

Siemens Smart ECX integrates new generation digital technologies such as the Internet of Things, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence, providing functions such as carbon data visualization, analysis benchmarking, prediction optimization, carbon inventory checking, and carbon emission reduction planning. It can help enterprises improve energy system efficiency and achieve a closed loop of carbon management value. The platform mainly focuses on four core scenarios: manufacturing, new power systems, energy intelligent operation and maintenance, and high-end buildings, and has launched standard, advanced, and professional versions for these scenarios.
Taking the construction scenario of a new power system as an example, Siemens uses algorithm models to predict power generation and load for microgrids, achieving comprehensive optimization of photovoltaic energy storage and charging, as well as precise management of electricity demand. The Beijing Global Power Supply Service Center business hall project mentioned earlier is a typical application case. In this project, Siemens tailored an energy and carbon management solution that integrates software and hardware equipment such as Smart ECX, intelligent microgrid controller SICAM A8000, and flexible interconnection devices. It built a cross shaped architecture of “AC/DC mutual benefit+optical storage DC flexible+flexible strategy”, forming a stable, reliable, clean, low-carbon, safe, controllable, flexible and efficient new power system.

Thanks to the application of Siemens Smart ECX, a smart carbon management platform, the carbon situation of the business hall is clear at a glance

At present, Siemens Smart ECX has been successfully applied in various industry scenarios and has accumulated numerous successful cases. For example, the MOBO Collaborative Innovation Industrial Park in Changshu High tech Zone, Taicang Zhihui Valley, Locke Meisen (Jinan) Zero Carbon Smart Factory, and the Nanjing State Grid Jiangbei New Area Power Supply Company Office Park have all been deployed.

Siemens Line Protection Systems Co., Ltd

At the same time, Siemens has also installed and applied Smart ECX in its own park. Taking Siemens Line Protection Systems Co., Ltd. (SCPS) as an example, in the face of diversified factory scenarios, we have achieved visualization of energy and carbon data through the deployment of Smart ECX. Combined with relevant energy management measures, we have helped the factory reduce its annual carbon emissions by about 200 tons, a year-on-year decrease of nearly 6.7%. The factory has previously been rated as a national green factory. In addition, the online carbon verification function of the platform has also helped Suzhou Siemens Electrical Appliances Co., Ltd. (SEAL) and Beijing Siemens Sibelius Electronics Co., Ltd. (BSCE) efficiently and accurately complete the verification of organizational carbon emissions and product carbon footprint. DEKRA Certification Group (DEKRA) issued the “2023 Organizational Carbon Emission Verification Statement” and Desigo Essentials for the two factories respectively in June this year ® ELC.E14 Controller Carbon Footprint Verification Statement.
Through one practical case after another, Siemens continues to expand the application scenarios of Smart ECX, transforming the potential of technology into actual productivity, and promoting the deepening and implementation of digital and low-carbon transformation with a practical spirit.
