Detection Principle

The line laser 3D profile sensor is installed directly above the wood panel. The sensor remains stationary while detecting panels as they arrive at the detection station. Upon receiving a trigger signal, the sensor begins positioning the wood panel. The detection data is transmitted to a PLC, which then directs a servo motor to accurately position the wood panel.

Detection Process

  1. The wood panel is transported to the detection station via a conveyor, where mechanical clamps provide rough positioning.
  2. Once rough positioning is complete and the panel is within the detection range of the laser profile sensor, the sensor activates for precise laser detection.
  3. The sensor captures and transmits deviation data between the panel’s intended processing or cutting position and the reference position to the PLC.
  4. The PLC, upon receiving the precision positioning coordinates, adjusts the panel’s position using the servo motor, ensuring the panel is perfectly aligned for processing or cutting.

Detection Tools

The profile position tool employed by the system can automatically identify edge corner features of the wood panel and output XZ coordinates. This enables accurate positioning calculations, with a maximum precision of up to 20 µm.
